Chelsea Manning 2018 AU/NZ tour

Chelsea Manning is an American activist and whistleblower. She was convicted for crimes relating to the leak of sensitive US military data while she was in service.

THE BRIEF:

Create the master artwork for Chelsea Manning’s AU/NZ speaking tour. Animate the master artwork for a number of promotional social posts.

THE EXECUTION:

This campaign was definitely a challenging one – conceptually, but also over the course of the live campaign, we came across so many unexpected twists and turns, involving even Australia’s government and a number of big media platforms. As a result Think Inc had to shift the physical live show to a livefeed show, to adapt to Chelsea Manning’s barring of physical shows.

For the promos, I decided on pulling audio clips from various interviews with Chelsea and let her actual words guide my animation.
